Aerial photography is the result of the development of technology for documenting the
world around us, which dates back to its roots in the mid-19th century. Nowadays, more than photography, archaeologists are fascinated by various data visualisations acquired by other methods (satellite imagery, ALS, hyper- and multispectral imagery). Increasingly, the products of modern data acquisition methods fall under the concept of Virtual Reality.
So, the question arises: Are the concepts that were developed in the context of using
traditional photography still relevant when applying modern technologies? In the lecture, professor Rączkowski will engage in a discussion of theoretical reflections on the potential of modern technologies in investigating the past societies.
