The monograph evaluates archaeobotanical data recovered from the archaeological sites in the area of the Mikulčice-Kopčany settlement agglomeration during the excavations conducted between 2005 and 2014. Through intensive sampling of the excavated area and the application of state-of-the-art techniques for the extraction of plant macroremains from archaeological deposits, it was possible to collect a vast archaeobotanical assemblage that was substantially varied in terms of the origin of the samples. Detailed knowledge of the archaeological context of the samples enabled to conduct taphonomic, mathematic and ecological analyses. The study addresses the production of crops and the supply of the settlement agglomeration with foodstuffs of plant origin.
