The second meeting of the Interreg Danube Region project partners took place

On January 14, 2026, the second partner meeting of the ROMAN LEGACY project, implemented under the Interreg Danube Region program, took place via videoconference. The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner institutions involved in the project, which aims to create a transnational cultural route and thematic region focused on Roman heritage along the Danube Limes.

The main objective of the meeting was to evaluate the progress of the project since its launch in April last year and to coordinate further steps. The discussion focused on harmonizing strategies, sharing experiences, and exchanging information on activities carried out in individual countries of the Danube region, with an emphasis on strengthening cooperation between professional institutions in the fields of archaeology, monument preservation, museology, and regional development.

The program also included a debate on building a transnational network of actors, including professional institutions and regional and local stakeholders, and on the preparation of common interpretative frameworks and presentation tools for the unified popularization of Roman cultural heritage.

The meeting also focused on the preparation of upcoming professional and public activities, including workshops and discussions, and confirmed the strong interest in international cooperation. In the coming period, the project will focus on the specific form of the cultural route, its unified interpretation, and the creation of outputs supporting the long-term protection and sustainable presentation of Roman heritage in the Danube region.
