Accept invitation to the 21st CEA meeting on the theme LIPA:
Lifeways – Interaction – Past environments – Adaptation. The conference will take place from 8–10 February 2027 at the premises of the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Brno, Čechyňská 363/19, 602 00, and at the Research base in Mikulčice (Czech Republic).
The conference focuses on exploring the links between cultural processes and environmental conditions that shaped past societies, and brings together contributions that seek to understand the complex relationships between humans and the landscape through four key perspectives that give the conference its name.
We welcome contributions addressing questions from four key themes:
We hope to learn more about the dynamics of the relationship between culture and environment in the past, including mechanisms of resilience and adaptation of past societies. We welcome contributions that connect archaeology, anthropology, archaeobotany, archaeozoology, palynology, and other related disciplines, and that bring critical reflection on the ways humans transformed and interpreted their natural world.
