On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at 11:00 CEST (09:00 UTC), Katarína Adameková from the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Brno, will give an online talk as part of the Young Researchers in Archaeometry seminar series. The lecture will focus on a medieval settlement in Uherské Hradiště, Czech Republic.
Entitled Reading medieval landscapes through soils: geoarchaeological insights from Uherské Hradiště, Czech Republic, the talk will explore what anthropogenic soils and sediments can reveal about landscape development, the use of space, and changes in human activity from the Early to the High Middle Ages. The research combines soil micromorphology, geochemical analyses, palaeobotanical data, and chronological evidence.
The lecture will be held online in English.
